Origins

The roots of the Borgo

A man from the south and a woman with roots in Oltrepò, with different experiences, dissimilar paths, meeting and intertwining like sturdy shoots, resistant to the winds of change.

Our hands linked in a funny game, but it was the meeting of wounds, which consoled and then healed, that gave life to a common project. This is how we grew, in a whirlwind of emotions and projects that are difficult to encapsulate in words.

The dream of the Borgo, born of an instinctive impulse, has taken deep root in our lives.

Today, with our eyes closed and our faces marked by the wisdom of time, we relive here the scents, flavours and smells that only a land that ‘tastes of hard work’ can bestow.

Our corner of the world

Where time seems to slow down, where cobbled streets tell stories of generations intertwining, of hands that have built, nurtured and protected the heart of a small but extraordinary refuge.

A community that grows together, with deep roots in the earth and sincere bonds. Family is the beating heart of everything, united not only by blood but by an affection that endures the challenges of time. Every gesture, even the smallest, is charged with a meaning that goes beyond the everyday, like a dish shared at the table, a smile exchanged along a road, or a word of comfort on winter evenings.

Here, where everything seems to be on a human scale, life flows slowly, but full of the joy that comes from sharing, respect for traditions and the knowledge that the future is in the hands of those who have learned to appreciate the little things. It is a place where hopes are intertwined with dreams, where the present is lived with intensity and the past is a treasure that is handed down with love.

Vegetable garden

There is nothing as fascinating as the miracle of the seasons: months that turn and landscapes that are dressed in magical colours. Our vegetable garden does not shy away from this magic: geometric shapes delineate spaces that, at different times, explode in colours and scents.

Vegetables of all kinds and aromatic herbs that embellish our dishes, cut flowers that colour and perfume and fruit plants, with the sole purpose of enjoying their beauty and regaining true flavours.

Because eating what one has sown and cultivated is the greatest gratification to the not easy work of cultivating the land.

Even when nature takes a pause, the authentic flavours of our vegetable garden remain available: the Kitchen Garden in a Jar contains the best of our vegetables to be enjoyed all year round.

A stroll through the Borgo

Animals

In the heart of Borgo Santuletta, animals live in harmony with nature.

 Hens roam freely among the rows of vines, providing fresh eggs every morning, while donkeys stroll elegantly along the paths bordering the vineyards. Little goats live in harmony with the white sheep, and cats wander curiously among the ancient stones of the village, silent guardians of a timeless place.

Refuge of the synapses

In the Oltrepò a door opens onto the Otherworld, you only have to open it to feel that thrill. This is the incipit of a writer who, inspired by the corners of Borgo Santuletta, called it the refuge of the synapses where a collection of memories and corners transports us to another dimension, unexplored but familiar.
